What is a hero?
I took the liberty of interviewing a few kids in our neighborhood of what they think a hero is. A lot of them said superman because he has super powers, batman because he saves live, the flash because he runs fast.
But one answer astounded me. “My mom” was her answer.
My mother, she’s my heroine, sure she can be a little annoying at times. Not to mention overly protective and very nosy! But still, I love her.
That’s just how mothers act. If they didn’t do that to you, they don’t love you.
“Hero” means someone who is admired for his/her brave deeds and noble qualities.
I consider my mom all of these. Our family survives on a shoe-string budget yet she still pursues to let me finish in T.U.M.C.S.
I admire her for that; it takes so much courage to go for something you don’t know if you can finish in the long run. She’s just looking at that small gleam of hope that I can finish my studies and get a job so that I can take over financial problems for her.
Sometimes, i see her with her hand on her head looking a bit irritated. I feel pity; to see my mom go through these problems is just too much for me to bear.
But once I see her smile, it makes me happy that… even through ALL this troubles
She could still give a warm, loving smile to us.
That is why I consider my mom a HERO…
